EVENT DETAILS

We are honored to have the opportunity to highlight the rich cultural traditions held along the coastal corridor by hosting this year’s General Membership Assembly at the historic Penn Center. For more on the history and offerings of the Penn Center, please visit their website here.  

 

This year’s General Membership Assembly will take place from March 5-8th, 2026. Members should anticipate the following activities (agenda is subject to change as we approach the assembly – more details and detailed itinerary to be shared ahead of the event):

  • March 5: Travel day/member arrivals, welcome dinner + evening activity on-site at Penn Center 

  • March 6-7: Full content/programming days – on-site content blocks and programming (discussion groups, interactive activities, etc), farm tours, shared meals and fellowship 

  • March 8: Closing circle, travel day/member departures

We are happy to announce our first in-person general membership assembly, held March 5-8, 2026 at the historic Penn Center, on St. Helena Island, SC. As we approach our 20th year anniversary as an institution, we are excited to celebrate, reflect, and fellowship with our membership base!

Centering time on the land together, farmer-focused content blocks, excellent meals highlighting our member farm’s offerings, and our first full membership meeting.

We anticipate lots of opportunities for fellowship and celebration of SAAFON as we enter our third decade of organizing together in support of Black farmers across the Southeast and Caribbean regions. Please see below for more details and registration link.
